\nDealing with \u201cJoint flood risk governance and management in the Axios\/Vardar cross border area\u201d – within the framework of the FLOOD SHIELD project<\/strong><\/p>\n
\nBoth meetings took place at the \u201cInternational Centre for Digital Transformation and Digital Skills\u201d in the old Slaughterhouse on the west side of the city of Thessaloniki under the responsibility of the Lead Partner, the Decentralised Administration of Macedonia \u2013 Thrace (DAMT), with the participation of representatives of all project partners, namely apart from the DAMT (Lead Partner), the General Secretariat for Natural Environment and Water of the Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Hellenic Republic, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Planning of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Directorate of Civil Protection of the Republic of North Macedonia.
\nThe 3rd Project Meeting hosted by the General Secretariat for Natural Environment and Water – Ministry of Environment and Energy of the Hellenic Republic.
\nThe purpose of the 3rd Project Meeting was to move the partnership a step further regarding the progress of the project\u2019s implementation. The challenges relevant to project deliverables and the various problems encountered by the partners were being analyzed, along with the achievements and the next steps were being defined for the achievement of the project objectives and the successful implementation of the project activities.
\nHosted by the Decentralised Administration of Macedonia – Thrace, the 2nd Joint Flood Risk Management Group Meeting (JFRMG Meeting)\u2019s goal was, to enhance effective cross-border cooperation in flood risk management in the Axios\/Vardar region, the achievement of which is sought through all project actions.
\nIn this context, the mode of operation, scope and responsibilities of the Group were being thoroughly discussed and approved. In parallel, the study area and the civil protection systems of the participating countries were analysed in order to better understand the scope of the Group’s activities and to provide feedback to the discussion. The self-protection guidelines designed within the framework of the project were also presented.
\nAll these subjects were discussed under the aim of sharing a common vision and understanding of the main pillars of the project and, in more detail, an integrated idea of the cross-border area and the civil protection mechanisms.<\/p>\n
